He could reveal in person how everything happened in the aftermath of her death. He could also reveal what he has been up to since he retired and to whom he is narrating the story.
Because of that reveal in the first episode, Lala’s death raises several questions about the future of NCIS: Origins. Harmon’s Gibbs has a chance to tie it all together and help NCIS: Origins expand past her character. The finale already revealed Gibbs’ encounter with Diane, and season 2 could continue this trend, with Harmon’s Gibbs at the center.
